Refuelling with MOBILE FUELING is similar to using an automated fuel pump at a service station: Drive up to the fuel pump. Start the refuelling session in the app, which authorises payment for the fuel pumped. For this purpose, you need to enter the fuel pump number. Once the app reports that payment has been authorised, you can unhook the fuel nozzle. Refuel as usual. As soon as you hook the nozzle back on the pump, the payment is processed in the background. Done! The app displays a ‘success’ screen and the fuel pump resets to 0.00. The service station staff is informed directly, through the cash register system. Now you can leave the fuel pump to either continue your journey or to relax and pick up some provisions from the service station.
The cash register system informs staff that a refuelling transaction has been paid for electronically. Cash register staff will know that the convenient payment method of the future has been used when the app displays the ‘success’ screen and the fuel pump resets to 0.00 following successful payment, at the latest. In the case of some cash register systems they will even know this while you are refuelling.
You can currently use MOBILE FUELING at various participating service stations in Germany. We are constantly expanding our network of MOBILE FUELING-capable service stations for you. You can also always find all available service stations in the Charge&Fuel App, where you can also apply the ‘MOBILE FUELING’ filter. In addition, you can purchase fuel with the Charge&Fuel Card at more than 18,000 LOGPAY acceptance points in Europe.
The Charge&Fuel App displays all MOBILE FUELING-capable service stations on the map with a POI pin with a fuel nozzle and a Wi-Fi signal icon above the pin. In addition, you can use the filter feature to specify that only MOBILE FUELING-capable service stations should be displayed.
After tapping the ‘Start refuelling’ button, you must wait until the authorisation process is complete and the app displays ‘MOBILE FUELING can start’. If you unhook the nozzle too soon, you will start a normal refuelling session that must be paid for at the service station’s cash register, as usual, while the previously started MOBILE FUELING session is aborted because the fuel pump appears to be ‘occupied’ to the app.
There are a number of ways in which you can cancel a refuelling session in the app. You can cancel the session at any time before the pre-authorisation process, that is, before tapping the ‘Start refuelling’ button on the confirmation screen. You will know that the pre-authorisation has been successfully completed when you are notified that you can start refuelling. From this point on, you can still end the refuelling session in the app by tapping the cancel button as long as you have not yet unhooked the nozzle. This only applies at some service stations, since not all support this feature. If you have already unhooked the nozzle or do not see a cancel button, you can swap the nozzle as required. For example, if you have unhooked the diesel nozzle, you can hook it back on the pump and use the unleaded petrol nozzle on the same pump instead. If you would rather not refuel after all or if you selected the wrong pump number, hook the nozzle back on the pump and have the pump number reset at the cash register. Do not drive away from the fuel pump! As with any automated fuel pump, never initialise a pump and then drive away without refuelling or taking any other action. Otherwise, someone else could refuel at your expense until the session has expired.
This error message appears when you want to start a MOBILE FUELING session but your smartphone’s GPS location is too far from that of the service station. This could happen either because you are really too far away or because the GPS location of your smartphone is inaccurate. If you are in fact actually at the service station, try the following: Wait a moment and then tap the ‘Try again’ button. Open your maps app and check your location there, then try again in the Charge&Fuel App. Check your smartphone settings to ensure that you have enabled sharing your location and that you have given the Charge&Fuel App access to your geolocation data.
This error message appears if you are trying to start a MOBILE FUELING session but have not yet given the Charge&Fuel App access to the location services. What can I do? Convenience: Give the Charge&Fuel App permission to access the location services whenever the app is in use. This will provide the best user experience in the map view, displaying service and charging stations in the vicinity. Privacy: If you would like to be prompted for permission to access the location services each time you use the app, you can select the ‘Ask every time’ option. This means that you will be asked for permission the next time you tap the ‘Show my location’ button in the map view, for example. Off: You can also use the app without sharing your location. However, naturally, this means that we cannot display any service and charging stations in the vicinity. Additionally, for security purposes and to prevent fraudulent use of the app, you can only refuel with MOBILE FUELING when the app has permission to use your location services.
The Mobile-Payment-PIN is a second security factor that can be used to enable mobile payment features in the Charge&Fuel App. These include: adding the Charge&Fuel Card to an account (instead of the expiry date). adding a SHELL card to an account. enabling MOBILE FUELING.
New customers: When you order a new Charge&Fuel Card, the Mobile-Payment-PIN and your four-digit PIN are sent by post, in a separate letter from that for the card, for security purposes. Existing customers: If your Mobile-Payment-PIN is not at all or no longer available, you can apply for a new PIN in the following manners. In the app: You can request a new PIN at the bottom of the interface through which MOBILE FUELING is enabled, when you are requested to enter the PIN. When you tap the button to request a new PIN, a request is forwarded by email to the relevant LOGPAY department. This will result in a new Mobile-Payment-PIN being sent. You can also submit a request for a new Mobile-Payment-PIN directly to our service team at chargeandfuel@logpay-ts.de.
To be able to add a SHELL card in the Charge&Fuel App, there must already be a valid Charge&Fuel Card from the same debtor stored in the account. A SHELL card can then be added by accessing the ‘My cards’ menu item: Tap the small plus (+) button at the top right Select SHELL card Provide the mandatory information (card number, expiry date, etc.) Enter the Mobile-Payment-PIN Done!
For security purposes, our service uses your GPS location to check whether you are in the vicinity of the service station where you would like to refuel. Only if you are actually at the specified service station can you access one of the pumps to refuel. This helps to prevent unauthorised use and to protect your account.
If you are a B2C driver or a B2B driver and MOBILE FUELING is enabled for your company: Tap ‘My cards’ in the sidebar menu. Select your LOGPAY Charge&Fuel Card. Tap the ‘Enable’ button for MOBILE FUELING at the bottom of the screen. Enter your Mobile-Payment-PIN.
In addition to your Charge&Fuel Card, you will need a SHELL card that is allocated to the same customer account as your Charge&Fuel Card to refuel with MOBILE FUELING at SHELL service stations. Please contact LOGPAY directly (at chargeandfuel@logpay-ts.de, etc.) for this purpose. In the Charge&Fuel App: First, you must have added your Charge&Fuel Card in the app and enabled MOBILE FUELING. As a private individual, you can enable MOBILE FUELING for your B2C Charge&Fuel Card(s) directly in the app, in the card details (see FAQ on enabling MOBILE FUELING in the app). This can be done once. If you have not yet received a Mobile-Payment-PIN for this purpose, simply use our click path at http://www.mobile-fueling.de.
If you are a new customer, when you enter into a contract for one or more Charge&Fuel Cards, you automatically apply for MOBILE FUELING free of charge. Any subsequent cards you may order will then also have MOBILE FUELING enabled. If you are an existing customer and the owner of the customer account, for example, the account manager, fleet manager or managing director, you can have MOBILE FUELING enabled for your cards by contacting your LOGPAY customer agent or by sending an email to chargeandfuel@logpay-ts.de.
Some service stations have pumps with nozzles at the side rather than at the front and back. Often, these are for car and truck diesel respectively, and two vehicles can refuel at the same time. Since these pumps frequently have the same pump number, authorising a refuelling session using MOBILE FUELING would mean that both pumps could be used at the same time and that both refuelling transactions would be charged to your MOBILE FUELING account. Therefore, either avoid such pumps or refuel non-electronically, for example, using a physical fuel card.
Once a refuelling transaction has been authorised and you can unhook the nozzle to refuel, the pump can be used. Now you must either refuel, cancel the session from the app (not available at all service stations) or unhook the nozzle, hook it back on the pump and let the cash register staff know that your pump should be reset. If you drive away from the pump instead, others could refuel at your expense until the session expires. In this case, the system functions just like an automated fuel pump.
If the app is closed (due to a force stop, crash or empty battery) after you have tapped the ‘Start refuelling’ button and thus requested authorisation, open the app again. The ongoing refuelling session is resumed. When the ‘MOBILE FUELING can start’ screen is displayed, you can unhook the nozzle from the pump and refuel. If you can no longer start the app, use the pump normally and refuel, or unhook the nozzle and hook it back on the pump if you decide not to refuel. Then, proceed to the cash register and pay for the fuel or, if you have not refuelled, ask the cash register staff to reset the pump.
You do not incur any additional charges when using MOBILE FUELING. You pay the same fuel prices that are displayed at the service station and that you would pay if you were to pay with the physical Charge&Fuel Card.
Immediately after you have refuelled, you will receive an electronic receipt at the email address specified in your account. Refuelling sessions you pay for with the LOGPAY Charge&Fuel Card will also appear in your Charge&Fuel App transaction history. You will still receive the invoice separately by email, as usual.
