Anyone interested in finding out the latest fuel prices for diesel, SP 95 E10, SP 95, Super unleaded, LPG, natural gas and much more can do so on the Clever Tanken website, free of charge and without registering. Prices are obtained from the Market Transparency Unit for Fuels (MTU Fuels) and also based on our own research. Registered users can also save their favourite service stations and set up a price alert. Registered and app users also receive an exclusive lowest price guarantee at HEM service stations. Since autumn 2021, the new Clever Pay feature has enabled customers to pay for fuel directly, using their smartphone, at selected service stations.
The new Clever Pay feature of the Clever Tanken app in collaboration with LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH enables customers to not only find the cheapest service station but also pay there directly, contactless, securely and quickly, using their smartphone (a maximum of €150 per day). This feature can already be used at many service station partners in Germany. We are constantly expanding our partner network.

If you were unable to reserve a fuel pump in the app, please restart the app and try again. If it still doesn’t work, you can still refuel regularly and pay at the counter.
You will always receive a collective invoice for your refuelling activities by email. If you have not yet received one, please check your spam folder. You can also check your refuelling activities in the app. They are immediately available.
Your invoice contains everything you would find on the regular fuel receipt you would receive at the cash register:

the place and time of fuelling
the volume of fuel, fuel type and price
the total amount including VAT

LOGPAY Financial Services GmbH and LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH both operate under the umbrella of the ‘LOGPAY Group’ also known as ‘LOGPAY’.
With its Clever Pay, Clever Tanken relies on the LOGPAY group of companies’ many years’ experience in the fuel trade and fuel cards, and thus merely acts as an intermediary so that you can easily and conveniently compare fuel prices and purchase your fuel directly in an app. For this purpose, registration with LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH is necessary so that the fuel transaction can be settled using the selected payment method.
The Ts and Cs contain important information about your contractual agreement. We would be happy to provide such information to you personally, in accordance with your contractual agreement.
The General Terms and Conditions (Ts and Cs) are an integral part of the contract. In order for the latter to come into effect, you must also agree to these Ts and Cs.
FTo enter into a contract we need the following data from you - of course, this must be correct, complete and valid: your name, address, email address and a credit card with 3D Secure authentication or a giropay (paydirekt) account.
We do not have a fixed contract term – it can be cancelled on a monthly basis.

You can use all the features of the app around 20 minutes after registering successfully. Please make allowance for this prior to refuelling for the first time.
No. There are absolutely no hidden costs with us. By the time you enter into the contract and accept the Ts and Cs, you have already taken note of all the applicable costs.
Initially, the payment methods available for Clever Pay will be giropay (formerly paydirekt) and credit cards. However, we are constantly expanding our selection of payment methods so you will surely hear from us.
If a fuel transaction was mistakenly charged more than once, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, providing a screenshot or photo of the debit entries. We will then correct the error without delay.
The 3D Secure procedure is intended to increase the security of credit card payments. It may therefore also be the case that you have to provide an additional security factor such as a TAN or your PIN to confirm individual transactions.
The so-called two-factor authentication of the bank or provider that issued the card with 3D Secure (3DS) authentication ensures that it is really you who is using Clever Pay to make the payment at the service station.
Two-factor authentication improves the security of online payments by means of two independent security features. The factors used may vary according to the payment service provider, which is why you should contact your payment service provider (the institution issuing the card) if you have any related questions. Online banking customers are already familiar with a similar procedure when they provide their login details and the supplied TAN for each transaction.
The bank that issues the card always decides whether a 3D Secure check is required. This means that some fuel transactions require additional authentication.
Some payment service providers block 3D Secure transactions if you enter an incorrect code. Please speak to your payment service provider to see whether such transactions can be unblocked automatically.
Initially, 3D Secure authentication is used to check whether you are the cardholder. The subsequent actual debiting of the card may still be rejected by the payment service provider that issued your card. In this case, please contact your payment service provider to find out why.
Information about 3D Secure is generally available on the website of the payment service provider that issued your card as well as on www.kartensicherheit.de, a collaborative project between German banks and savings banks.
We are pleased to be the first provider to enable fuel payments using giropay (paydirekt). It is important that your bank participates in this payment procedure in order for you to use it. A list of the participating banks is available at paydirekt.de.
giropay (paydirekt) is an additional feature of your current account, so there is no need to register separately for it. All you need to use it is a current account, online banking access and a valid email address. Please contact your bank for more information on how to register.
If you have selected giropay (paydirekt) as your payment method, you simply need to log in with your user name and password to start the refuelling activity, provided that you have already enabled giropay (paydirekt). You have the option to check the authorised fuel amount again. Once you have confirmed it, the selected amount is reserved in your current account and the fuel pump is enabled (display in the app). If the value of the fuel pumped is lower than the previously selected amount, only the amount for the fuel actually pumped will be debited to your current account.
